Ed Keane
Associates was founded
by Ed Keane in 1996 in Boston, Massachusetts, where he has been
a life-long resident. Ed graduated from Harvard University with
a degree in Biochemistry, yet music remained a creative passion.
He founded the company to develop his growing interest in the
field of artist management and project development after working
as an agent in the talent booking field at Ted Kurland Associates.
Renowned drummer, educator and Thelonious
Monk Institute founder T.S. Monk and fellow Harvard alum and
Grammy Award winning banjoist Alison Brown were among the first
artists to become clients at Ed Keane Associates. Through his
production and management activities, Ed’s agency attracted some of music’s
most gifted artists in the genres of jazz, classical, and blues
including legendary composer / conductor / performer David
Amram (who composed the music for such classic films as The
Manchurian Candidate and Splendor In The Grass), six-time Grammy-
nominated vocalist Nnenna Freelon, and a host of legendary
artists and young up-and-coming talents.
Since the company was founded, it has grown to offer talent
booking, production, and music publishing services. The company
is currently formed into three parts: the Management Division,
the Booking Division (domestic and international), and Production.
In addition, the company provides consulting services to multi-national
corporate and educational institutions.
