Quotes and Reviews - Jon Faddis

New York Times

"Critic's choice: Four star! ...warm ...original ...superhuman technique ...[Faddis] owns the Stratosphere."

JazzTimes

"Faddis is a remarkably wide-ranging musician. He can whisper through his trumpet, he can pierce your eardrums, or he can sustain a note ad infinitum, a la his mentor Dizzy Gillespie. And hes as comfortable playing straight-ahead bop and ballads as he is bossa nova and the blues. Faddis sure knows how to put together an enjoyable record."

Jazz Improv

"His sound is irresistible... an excellent new album... from this virtuosic and deeply committed contributor to jazz."

Pittsburg Post-Gazette

"Few Trumpeters are technically more daring than Jon Faddis. He mines the upper registers of his horn with rapid runs before descending into the shadowy corners with equal velocity."

The Morning Desert Sun

"It was the perfect balance between soft and hard...the soft-spoken Faddis was a wild man on the trumpet... the man belted out some sonic punches that kept the musics dynamics on the upswing... Showcase after Showcase brought the audience to cheers... with standing ovation after standing ovation."
