Other Earl Klugh's NIGHT OF GUITARS: Featuring Ray Parker Jr., Peter White, and Earl Klugh Resources

Klugh’s inspiration for the ‘Night of Guitars’ series began nearly 30 years
ago while performing with two of his biggest influences, Chet Atkins and
George Benson. Klugh reflects, “I was asked to perform on a television
special for PBS, and the program directors approached me about playing
as a guitar trio, allowing me to choose the other two guitarists. Hands
down I said ‘Chet Atkins’ and George Benson!’ The performance was
unforgettable for me.”
While the first ‘unofficial Night of Guitars’ aired on the PBS series Soundstage
throughout 1978 and 1979, Klugh’s ‘Night of Guitars’ series debuted to a
sold-out crowd at Earl’s annual Weekend of Jazz at The Broadmoor in
Colorado Springs. In additional to playing with the band, the ‘three
amigos’ take the stage together with nothing but their bar stools, mics
and guitars, just as happy to be performing together as the audience
is to witness the show’s magic. ‘Night of Guitars’ featuring Ray Parker Jr.,
Peter White and Earl Klugh will be available on tour for select dates in
2009/2010.
